Vaccination against COVID-19 in older adults will begin in San Andrés Cholula

CITY OF PUEBLA, Pue.- San Andrés Cholula will be the municipality in which the vaccination against COVID-19 in older adults will begin, with a total of 10,810 doses of Pfizer, reported the Secretary of Health, José Antonio Martínez García.
By participating in the videoconference of Governor Miguel Barbosa Huerta, the secretary indicated that this Tuesday the application of the second dose of the vaccine for health personnel who are in the first line of care begins. In total, 6,825 doses will be allocated, while 6,890 will be for the remaining personnel of public and private institutions.
As for the epidemiological report, it released 100 new infections from COVID-19 and 30 deaths. Regarding active cases, he commented that there are 937 located in 71 municipalities of the entity, while the number of hospitalized patients is 960; of them, 137 are assisted with mechanical ventilation.
Of the number of patients attended by medical unit, he detailed that 353 people are in the Health Services; 349, Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS); 96, private hospitals; 75, ISSSTEP; 71, ISSSTE; 11, University Hospital, and five, Regional Military Hospital.
Similarly, he commented that, considering public and private hospitals, the average occupancy is 44.9 percent.
He specified that, in the case of the Ministry’s medical units, those located in the metropolitan area, the average hospital occupancy is 39 percent, while for general hospital it is the following: Atlixco (Partial), 73 percent; Cholula 67 percent; from the South, 53 percent; from the North, 52 percent; Huejotzingo 44 percent; for the Poblano Child 10 percent; Traumatology and Orthopedics in his area converted to 6 percent. The Health Centers with Expanded Services (CESSA’s) of San Aparicio, 33 percent, and Cholula, 17 percent.
In the interior of the state, the average occupancy is 41 percent. By medical unit, the general hospitals of Tehuacán, 75 percent; Teziutlán 60 percent; Izúcar de Matamoros, 51 percent; Acatlán de Osorio, 37 percent; Tecamachalco, 33 percent; Xicotepec, 27 percent, and Zacatlán, 4 percent.
He added that, in the rest of the public institutions, the average occupation is: in the ISSSTE, 66 percent; IMSS, 50.5 percent in all its units, and ISSSTEP, 48 percent.
