Apple’s second store in South Korea will officially open on February 26 at 10:00 a.m. The store was first announced last November on Apple’s website as coming soon.
Apple Yeouido is located on L1 of the Seoul IFC Mall. You can find out more about the store and see it in context with Apple Garosugil, South Korea’s first Apple Store, in our previous coverage.
After Apple announced its imminent opening in Yeouido last November, South Korea experienced an unprecedented spike in new cases of COVID-19, which may have contributed to the significant delay between the announcement and the opening. Infection rates have fallen steadily since the start of the year.
Since the start of the pandemic, the Apple Store openings have been a little different. Physical distancing is encouraged and masks are necessary. Store occupancy is reduced, so visitors on the opening day will need to make an appointment to enter.
If you are attending the opening of Apple Yeouido, I would like to share your photos.
Apple’s proceedings in South Korea have become a model for reopening stores around the world throughout 2020. Apple Garosugil has been operating with increased health and safety measures since last April.
