The US House of Representatives Budget Committee passed an economic stimulus bill worth $1.9 trillion on the 22nd (local time), AFP News reported.
After finalizing the bill, the Budget Committee held a vote that day and approved it with 19 in favor and 16 against it.
On the 26th and 27th, a vote in the entire House of Representatives will be held, and if passed by the House, it is expected to pass to the Senate next week.
The Democratic Party’s leadership plans to pass a stimulus bill 14 days before the end of federal unemployment benefits payments.
According to Reuters, Senate Representative Chuck Schumer repeatedly emphasized that President Joe Biden must sign the bill by the 14th.
