It was a big gap left by the death of hit icon Roy Black on October 9, 1991. So big that it had to be filled again by the six-week office. At least that’s what Guildo Horn said in 1993 on the show “Schreinemakers Live”, which Margarethe (ex-wife of Jürgen von der Lippe) showed us in a way that one would otherwise never experience: speechless! After all, the late Roy Black had entered Guildo’s heart “from the top left” in order to save the world. Since then, Guildo has lived the hit – and that has not changed until today.
As bizarre as the story was, it is essentially about unforgettable music. “You are not alone” and above all “All in white” are the tireless scraps of everlasting love. The only thing that sounds even nicer is “It’s nice to be in the world”, the ode to bees and porcupines with the cheeky and cheerful Anita. And of course the nostalgic cover “Tulips from Amsterdam”.
To mark the 30th year of his death, Universal Music is now releasing its greatest hits in cooperation with Starwatch Entertainment on the album “Roy Black – Never Forget!” The special thing about this release is that all hits have been remastered in the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London. Due to the complex re-mastering, the songs became even more valuable in sound and tonal image, the voice even more direct. The compilation impresses with beautiful harmony, top hits and evergreens such as “When you are with me”, “Put your heart in my hands”, “Madness”, “Sand in your eyes”, “Just ask your heart”, “Stay with me ”and“ your most beautiful gift ”. With twenty songs that also focus on the not so well known pieces, the album is essential. A nice retrospective for fans.
