This club brings together people curious about scientific subjects, in particular astronomy. It offers them the opportunity to share this passion. The association buys and manufactures educational tools, models, didactic panels and defines specific programs according to needs. Since 2017, it has been organizing free public events around Tayrac: observation of the sky at night, science workshops and activities that often attract a lot of people (up to 500 people). One of the association’s objectives is to participate in the dynamism of the village and surrounding communities by offering a new activity that will bring together curious people of all ages.
Until now, the club has used telescopes loaned by volunteers from the same association. The winning project consists in the acquisition of high-performance observation equipment in order to provide additional observation posts and thus attract new enthusiasts. These last days, in the town hall of Tayrac at 2 p.m., Aubry Campmas president of the astronomy and sciences club of Tayrac presented the new material to Sophie Borderie, president of the departmental council, Marie-France Salles departmental councilor was excused, to Bernard Barral departmental advisor, Thierry Delpech mayor of Tayrac and Thomas Benezet, member of the advisory board within the framework of the “citizen participatory budget”.
