In the city of Salzburg, a 20-year-old Chechen driver disregarded being stopped by a police patrol on Friday night. While on the run, the 20-year-old lost control of his vehicle because of his excessive speed and hit a curb. Since the car was no longer drivable, the driver fled on foot. A police manhunt was initially negative. After the young man returned to the scene of the accident, however, a check by the officials revealed that the Chechen does not have a driver’s license and that he was in a state of drug abuse. He is reported to the public prosecutor and the authorities for several offenses.
Drunk driving causes an accident on A1
On Friday evening, a highway patrol was called to a traffic accident on the A1 with property damage. A 33-year-old driver hit the impact protection at the Salzburg-West exit and was then thrown back into the middle lane of the motorway. Upon arrival, the officers were able to determine that the driver of the accident was very drunk, but was not injured in the accident. The 33-year-old from Tennengau refused to take an alcohol test. The accused was also not in possession of a valid driving license, as this had already been withdrawn from him. However, the driver handed the officer a driver’s license that he had reported as lost. The driver of the accident is now being reported to the district administrative authority for various administrative offenses. ==
