The Texas government decided to lift restrictions on the export of gas for electrical operations in Texas, after it was suspended by the governor of the state, Greg Abbott, while the problem of the supply that has left cuts in various parts of the southern United States and northern Mexico was solved.
In his letter, the Governor of Texas reported: “I hereby terminate and revoke my letter of February 17, 2021 regarding natural gas and ask that you take all reasonable and necessary steps accordingly.”
Through the Surveillance and Security division of the Gas Services Department, informed the system operators that the termination of the order issued on February 17 does not affect the reduction of priorities, as established in the Emergency Order issued by the Commission itself on Friday, February 12 and that it lasted until February 23.
“The governor handed over to the president of the Railroad Commission (Christi Craddick) a letter that ends and rescinds the mandate established in the letter of February 17, 2021 “says the Commission of Railways de Texas it’s a statement”.
The Ministry of Economy reported hours before that electrical operations in Texas, in the United States, have completely resumed, and I trust that natural gas exports to Mexican territory are restarted.
Governor Greg Abbott had met on Friday with the oil and gas conglomerates for support in refineries after the effects on the electric power service in various parts of the state, and that has left effects on the energy system of northern Mexico.
US President Joe Biden also spoke Friday with the acting director of the federal agency for emergency situations, Bob Fenton, on an emergency declaration for Texas.
Biden also said that he had planned to travel to this border state with Mexico but that he wanted to avoid that it became “another burden”, and that the date of the trip will be announced in the next few days.
