The Teachers’ Union, that of employees as well as that of professionals of the Cégep de Thetford have decided to unite their voices to denounce the fact that they have been without an employment contract for nearly a year and that negotiations for their collective agreements are stalling.
At the initiative of the Teachers’ Union (SEECT), the employees, represented by the members of their union executives, went on February 18 to the thetford office of the Member for Lotbinière-Frontenac, Isabelle Lecours, in order to hand over a letter inviting him to convey the message to the government. For them, it is urgent to act to consolidate the college education network by negotiating collective agreements in good faith.
“Like their colleagues, the employees of the Cégep de Thetford wish to negotiate good working conditions in order to continue to offer quality education for the benefit of the Quebec society of tomorrow. After nearly a year without an employment contract, while the government proclaims loud and clear from all forums that education is one of its top priorities, the employees of the Cégep de Thetford are starting to grow impatient. and wish the negotiations to advance, ”SEECT underlined in a press release.
