The Société de musique contemporaine du Québec is offering online, free of charge, until February 28, its 10e edition of the Montreal / New Music festival.
Walter Boudreau, artistic director of the event, promises a series of performances that will go beyond musical boundaries. Eleven concerts will be presented on the theme “Beyond Borders” with, in the spotlight, contemporary Montreal ensembles.
We will find performances by the Molinari, Bozzini and Quasar quartets, as well as the Contemporary Ensemble of Montreal, SuperMusique, Paramirabo and many others.
The Vancouver Inter-Cultural Orchestra will launch it all tonight at 7:30 p.m. with the concert Music without borders, which will offer the new colors of contemporary music.
Saturday, at 7:30 p.m., we will revive the unconstrained state of mind of the 1970s with the concert Ode to Infonia. The young ensemble 333 ToutArtBel, directed by Philippe Hode-Keyser, will revisit the project founded by Walter Boudreau and Raoul Duguay.
The Great Night 2021, presented on February 27 at 7 p.m., offers an immersion in a spatialized sound universe, from the retro turntables to the most innovative “technos”.
On February 28, at 3 p.m., artists will offer the musical tale The silent piano by Gilles Vigneault and Denis Gougeon.
