Finistere. A community health center should open in Plounéour-Ménez

This is great news for Plounéour-Ménez (Finistère). A community health center should be established by 2024 in the town and, with it, two young doctors, as well as several health professionals. A project announced during the city council, Wednesday February 17, 2021, in the evening. It would be the first in Finistère and would be called the Mont d’Arrée community health center.

“About fifteen professionals were present at the meeting and were interested in installing this project here. The dynamics of the coming years launched in the municipality as well as a community and more egalitarian approach to medicine are the foundations that have brought us together ”, underlines the mayor, Sébastien Marie, all smiles.

In the current library

The project ? “This involves installing a consulting room in the current library, which would be fitted out for this purpose, rented in the form of an emphyteutic lease. The health center will be governed by associations. Professionals from several specialties work together and offer ancillary activities to the population in order to preserve their health. “

He adds: “The old school behind the town hall, in addition to housing the future library, will host a workshop for manufacturing medical equipment and sharing ideas at the local level, referred to as the Fab Lab. “

Meetings with locals

Meetings with residents, associations and local stakeholders will be organized at the end of 2021. Adaptation work on the building must be launched in 2022, for an opening at the beginning of 2024.
