Nearly 500 Citizens Arrested Against Myanmar Military Government

Reuters capture-There are close to 500 citizens arrested by the Myanmar military government for protesting against the coup.

Reuters reported on the 18th that an arrest warrant is being issued for the strike-encouraging person who opposes the military government and paralyzes the government office.

In Mandalay, Myanmar’s second city, protests demanded the release of two arrested officials.

Reuters said the strike had no sign of easing, even though the military appealed for officials to return to work and threatened to take action if they did not.

The military government also ordered six famous celebrities, including film directors and actors and singers, in accordance with the anti-government law, on charges of encouraging public officials to join the protests.

Their charges are subject to two years in prison.

In Yangon, the southern part of Myanmar’s largest commercial city, protests continue, with thousands of protesters gathering at intersections near major universities and shouting slogans for condemning the military.
