On the occasion of the 12th EHF Champions League day, HBC Nantes moved to the Barça floor.
It was Alexandre Cavalcanti who unlocked the Nantes counter. The ex-Barcelona Valero Rivera stood out in his wing and the “H” passed in front (4 ‘2-3). In his cages, Emil Nielsen gradually warmed up, performing his first displays. Confident, Cavalcanti took the intervals and already scored his 3th goal (10 ‘4-7). Little by little, Barça stuck to the score, taking advantage of Nantes errors and in particular a double digital exclusion. Despite this, Théo Monar found the solution against Moller twice (13 ‘7-9).

Olivier Nyokas came into play at the start of the second period and already brought in, putting his teammates in position (32 ’16-19). The “H” continued to lead the race but Barça remained in contact (36 ’19-20). Rivera continued his recital at 7 meters but Dika Mem passed over the Loire defense and the Barcelona wingers continued to be effective against. Barça was ahead in the score and the Nantes staff set their time-out (39 ’22-21). On their offensive phases, the Nantes stumbled on Kévin Moller. Emil Nielsen also responded on the other side and the score did not evolve as quickly (44 ’23-22).

The Danish goalkeeper multiplied the parades and Rivera, impeccable, brought his team up (49 ’25-25). Still in the game, the money-time was approaching and Baptiste Damatrin was served (54 ’27-26). At 100% success, Valero Rivera scored his 9th goal and equalized (55 ’27-27). The slightest purple error was directly exploited by the Catalans who led (58 ’29-28). It was ultimately the Barcelona experience that won in the very last moments, despite a very good part of the Nantes: 30-29.
