His name is Noam and is worn like a charm. He was born last Tuesday, February 16 at 2:06 p.m., and weighed 4.560 kg when he gave his first cry. His mom Margaux and his dad Kévin, are in heaven. Noam has the distinction of being the first baby in the new Bel-Air maternity hospital. As such, his parents were entitled to a small gift from the nursing teams, the general manager of CHR Metz-Thionville, and the president of the establishment medical commission, but also head of the gynecology department. obstetrics, the Dr Marie-France Olieric.

Noam therefore saw the light of day in the new Woman-Mother-Child hospital which began moving in at the start of the week, through the offices, then, on Tuesday, through the technical platform. “A delicate operation confesses Marjorie Molter, coordinating midwife. The beds of the new maternity being, Tuesday, being armed, the parturients thus gave birth in the new building before joining the old one for the night. This was the case for Noam’s mother who was only transferred to a brand new room (number 1 for 1is baby) that Wednesday morning.

The line of demarcation
In total, around forty patients are affected by the move. Everyone will take the corridor from another era that links the old maternity hospital to the new one. “Here we cross the line of demarcation”, we have fun saying among the teams. A 45-year-old line that caregivers are delighted to cross. “It’s a great adventure,” says Yvette Wallerich, the senior executive. This new maternity unit meets the expectations of everyone, patients and caregivers. It is coherent and functional. And above all, she will be able to give herself the means to achieve her ambitions: to seduce future mothers attracted by Luxembourg or private structures, and to reach, or even exceed, the milestone of 2,500 annual births.
