News photographer attacked in The Hague

The photographer had gone out because of a stabbing near the police station.

“When a little later an ambulance and a trauma helicopter were sent to the police station on the Aaltje Noordewierstraat, we started to make some pictures just to be sure”, says René Hendriks of Regio15. Broadcaster West.

‘Kicked and Beaten’

At the police station, the photographer was attacked by a man who ran out of the police station screaming. A police officer ran after him. The attacker kicked and hit the photographer, Regio15 says. “The police officer was slightly injured in the uproar.”

Police confirm that the attacker and a woman who was also with them have been arrested. Incidentally, they had nothing to do with the stabbing.

The attacked photographer is doing well. “Of course he was shocked, but was not injured.” He has reported it. “The officer who was slightly injured will probably do that too,” says Hendriks. “Everything is on screen so I think this case will be closed soon.”

It is not yet clear whether equipment has also been damaged.
