This is a first in the history of the association. And for good reason: accustomed to organizing its collection actions, carried out with the French Blood Establishment, within the city of Buffon, the Amicale pour le don de sang volunteers de Montbard and its region will have to go beyond the borders of the city to maintain the next blood donation scheduled for Wednesday February 24. A relocation due to the lack of available and suitable rooms in Montbard.
“With the health crisis, the Paul-Eluard space, in which we usually organize our collections, has already been requisitioned for several weeks to accommodate the vaccination center”, indicates Monique Dumont, the president of the association.
“The other rooms in the city, in particular those of the Maison des associations, are not suitable and the meeting room of the premises of the community of municipalities in which we thought we were settling is unfortunately too small and does not allow us to hold our space reserved for snacks. Otherwise, it would have to be organized outside under a barnum, but without the possibility of heating. This option is therefore not possible, ”she emphasizes.

Saint-Rémy will lend its village hall
At his side, Didier Roland, the secretary, announced that faced with this unprecedented situation, the association had to contact the neighboring municipalities of Montbard to find out if rooms would be available to host the next collection. “Saint-Rémy immediately accepted and offered to make its village hall available to us free of charge. “
A space adapted to the organization of collection, in particular with the implementation of new health rules. “We now need a safety distance of two meters between each person for the snack,” notes the secretary, who recalls that all the other measures put in place during previous collections will also be maintained. “This concerns the wearing of the compulsory surgical mask, the use of hydroalcoholic gel, waiting areas … In all cases, we have provided signage in the room”, specifies Monique Dumont, who hopes that this change of location will not will not hold back donors too much. “For those who do not have a vehicle, it could be complicated to come to Saint-Rémy, even if only three kilometers separate us from Montbard, but we had no choice if we wanted to maintain the collection. “
