Reopening of the Native Forest Art Gallery

After the end of the quarantine, Galería de Arte Bosque Nativo will gradually resume its activities, starting with the reopening of its exhibition rooms at Casa Raddatz, where today there is an exhibition dedicated to the engraver Santos Chávez.

Given the decision of the health authorities to allow the passage to phase 2 in the commune of Puerto Varas, Galería de Arte Bosque Nativo will reopen its doors from today, Wednesday, February 17, with the sanitary measures corresponding to this step. The opening hours will be between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the mornings and from 16 to 20 hrs. during the afternoons.

In its main room you can visit the exhibition “Santos Chávez: my beloved land. Between engravings and tapestries ”, which brings together the work of the prominent national engraver Santos Chávez and the work of the textile artist Viviana Rantul, who pays homage to the engraver’s poetics on her looms.

This activity at the Bosque Nativo Art Gallery is funded by the Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Heritage through its Support Program for Collaborating Cultural Organizations.

Likewise, there will also be a discussion through Zoom with the participation of Juan Pablo Scarella, president of the Santos Foundation and Eva Chávez; Sandra Santander, curator of the Pinacoteca of the University of Concepción; Viviana Rantul, textile artist who honors the artist, and Natalia Bártulos, art director of Galería Bosque Nativo. This space seeks to publicize the work of this outstanding national artist, showing different perspectives on his work and assessing his contributions to national art.

Fundación Bosque Nativo is part of the Support Program for Collaborating Cultural Organizations of the Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Heritage, which seeks to strengthen and give continuity to institutions and cultural organizations of private and non-profit law. This program is also part of the Financing System for Organizations and Cultural Infrastructure of the Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Heritage that integrates, articulates and coordinates in a transversal way the plans, programs and funds oriented to the promotion and support of organizations, of cultural infrastructure, and artistic mediation. All this with a decentralized vocation, participatory mechanisms, and the promotion of the creation of networks and associations.
