Angers. 51 new tall trees planted from Friday

Often criticized for the felling of trees in the city (linked most of the time to the development of the new tram line), the City of Angers also carries out plantations and does not forget to let it know.

She announces this Wednesday February 17 that she will carry out from Friday February 19 to Friday February 26 her third planting campaign of 51 signal trees in different neighborhoods. They will be added to the 98 signal trees that have already been planted over the past two years.

Elms, maples, plane trees, oaks …, whose size is between 6 and 10 meters, will thus dress the landscape of the districts of Angers specifies the town hall.

This campaign is part of the multi-year tree planting program provided for in the 2019-2025 Angevin Landscapes Master Plan which provides for the annual planting of 50 fruit trees, 50 street trees and 50 signal trees, as well as the implementing urban forests (at least 150,000 young plants by 2025 by creating or strengthening wooded areas.

Fruit trees, from old varieties, will be planted in shared orchards spread over the city. The town hall recalls that these fruit trees, located in the heart of neighborhoods in parks, gardens and squares, shared and family gardens, are accessible to users in free picking.
