According to the police, searches were conducted at 16 locations in North and South Holland and Gelderland. The suspects are in prison for violation of the Opium Act and for money laundering. According to the police, the suspects can also be linked to the criminal organization that had buried a large drug lab in Montfoort. The lab was built in sea containers that were again covered with dyke reinforcement clay.
Eleven of the searched properties are homes. In addition, the police searched, among other things, two garages, two sheds and a company. A kitchen lab was found in Wervershoof to produce crystal meth. Meth was also found, just like in Enkhuizen. Boilers needed for the production of synthetic drugs were found in a business building in Broek op Langedijk.
Cigarettes
In Hattem, Gelderland, under Zwolle, the police found 2.8 million presumably illegally imported cigarettes in a shed. This allowed EUR 640,000 in excise duty to be avoided.
In addition to drugs and cigarettes, seven (expensive) cars, a sum of cash and some expensive watches were also seized.
EncroChat
According to the police and justice, the action is a result of the well-known EncroChat hack, which allowed the services to read the communication traffic between criminals.
