The local PCF writes to the Director of the ARS with a copy to:
Madam the Prefect of Gironde
Mr. Mayor of Bordeaux
Mr. President of the Gironde Departmental Council
Mr. President of the Bordeaux Metropolis
Object : Vaccination campaign in Bordeaux.
Mr. Director,
Vaccination opens a way out of the anxiety-provoking situation experienced by millions of French people for a year and particularly the elderly or those suffering from serious illnesses.
While it is not for us to comment on the quality of the various vaccines offered, and while respecting the freedom of choice of each person to be vaccinated or not, we hope that every citizenˑ (not) who requests to be vaccinatedˑ can being. From this point of view, the current organization of the vaccination campaign poses many problems. This is the case with the 500,000 meetings announced by the Prime Minister and still not relevant.
In fact, it is noted everywhere a strong and recurring difficulty in making appointments, deadlines that are not specified and the shared feeling of a strong distortion between government communications and realities on the ground.
In Bordeaux, our local situation is not immune to these national difficulties. The first difficulty concerns making appointments. Indeed, the congestion of telephone platforms and particularly that of the CHU, makes making an appointment an obstacle course.
You are not without knowing that many people have difficulty, if at all, mastering the computer tool or may be discouraged by the saturation of telephone switchboards which invite you to renew your calls.
It would therefore be useful for the ARS services, in coordination with the Prefecture, the City of Bordeaux and the Metropolis, to implement:
► Decentralized arrangements to help make appointments at the municipal level, with systematic calls from people concerned by the first stages of vaccination;
► A transport service via vehicles, supported financially, to the vaccination centers, for those facing mobility difficulties.
Hoping that you will give your full attention to these requests for the protection of the elderly or vulnerable who have already suffered too much from the pandemic, we ask you to accept, Mr. Director, the expression of our best regards.
