Preparation for the game at Fortuna Düsseldorf started with training on Tuesday afternoon, and the question of the week is: Who will replace the injured Marvin Ducksch in Sunday’s game? Our head coach Kenan Kocak commented on this.
Kenan Kocak remains calm
It was the shock news on Monday evening: Marvin Ducksch has suffered a torn muscle fiber and our reds will be missing until further notice. There is no question that “Duckschi” is an incredibly important part of the team. With a total of ten goals and five assists, he is not only the top scorer at Hannover 96, but also ranks fourth in the league. The search for a replacement for the 96 goal guarantor began with the first training session on Tuesday. 96 head coach Kenan Kocak is calm: “We’ll find someone who plays up there.”
“Hen” as the desired solution
One. That could be Hendrik Weydandt, for example. The 25-year-old scored three times this season, including the important 1-0 winner at HSV. But “Henne” of all people had to end Tuesday training early. “He felt something in his calf,” said Kocak after the session. “That he went in was a precaution.” That doesn’t sound too dramatic at first, and our coach adds: “If ‘Henne’ is fit, then we support him, and if he is not fit, someone else has to work.”
Sulejmani “is an option”
Another. That could be Valmir Sulejmani. “He’s always fully committed and important to the team,” says Kocak. “Of course he’s an option.” “Valle” has already proven his final qualities this season and last met in the derby to equalize 1-1. His early opening goal against VfL Bochum on matchday 12 was also worth seeing.
Youth research?
The youngsters Simon Stehle, Mick Gudra, Moussa Doumbuya and Orrin Gaines, who made his debut against SC Paderborn, are also ready. Even if not right from the start, the “Jugend forscht” department could play a role in the match schedule in terms of substitutions. New dad Kingsley Schindler has also played in the striker. Unfortunately, Patrick Twumasi cannot intervene yet. “Next week”, says Kocak, the newcomer to the summer, who is also recovering from a torn muscle, will return to team training.
