Eligio Jáquez, Dominican consul in NY, mourns the death of Johnny Pacheco

EL NUEVODIARIO, NEW YORK.-The Dominican Consul in New York City, Eligio Jáquez sent a note of condolence to relatives, artists and fans of the music world for the death of salsa singer Johnny Pacheco, who died last night in a New York hospital affected by pneumonia.

“The confirmed announcement of the death of the musical legend Johnny Pacheco moves the feelings of multitudes of citizens who for several decades enjoyed the artistic ingenuity of this unique citizen of the world,” said the Dominican diplomatic representative residing in New York.

“We remember the artistic genius of the one who shone with his own light on international stages bringing music and joy through his performances, and who captivated the hearts of an audience that loved, admired and enjoyed his musical,” said the Dominican Consul.

The Fania All Star was the orchestra that accompanied him and with which he shared the world-renowned stages where he was accompanied by figures of international fame, who in their time had stood out as the most faithful exponents of salsa, said Eligio Jáquez in the condolences he sent to the media.
