US stars celebrate partial success for police reforms

A number of celebrities in the United States signed an open letter calling for police reforms – with success: The governor of New York announced a corresponding change in the law.

In New York, Rihanna, Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, Billie Eilish, Demi Lovato and Nas campaigned for a petition and signed an open letter. The project was successful in just a few days, as New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced on Twitter.
The petition calls for “the responsibility of those who violate their oath to serve and protect in order to obtain justice for those who are victims of their violence”. For this purpose, Paragraph 50-A, which makes the transparency of police violence more difficult, must be abolished.

Accordingly, the New York legislature voted for the repeal of Section 50-A and he will sign the corresponding law this week.
