Mumbai: Lawyer and environmental activist Nikita Jacob has admitted to holding a zoom meeting ahead of Republic Day. Poetic Justice Foundation founder MO. Environmental activists including Dhaliwal and Disha Ravi also attended the meeting through the Zoom app, Nikita said in the controversial toolkit document case.
Nikita’s lawyer told Mumbai Police that the toolkit was prepared by volunteers from Extension Rebel India. Nikita also denied allegations that she shared information with Greta Tunberg. The tool kit is just an ‘information pack’ for reporting information. It was not meant to cause violence.
Nikita also argues that there is no agenda related to religion, politics or economics in disseminating, editing, discussing or researching toolkits to raise awareness. Do not arrest for four weeks. Nikita’s lawyer also demanded a copy of the FIR in the Delhi Police case. Nikita has filed a petition in the Bombay High Court seeking protection for four weeks from her arrest. The Delhi Police has issued a non-bailable warrant against Nikita.
According to police, Disha and two others had gathered at Zoom to campaign on social media about the farmers’ tractor rally ahead of Republic Day. On February 11, a team of Delhi Police arrived in Mumbai and searched Nikita’s house.
