How to recover starred messages on WhatsApp
Each of the messages you receive on WhatsApp can be highlighted for quick reference later. This is especially useful when content is important and we don’t want it to end getting lost in the conversation history.
Highlighting a message on WhatsApp is very simple. All you have to do is go to the conversation where the message you want to highlight is located and take these steps:
- Make a long press on the message.
- In the context menu, tap Stand out.
You can do this in both messages received and sent. By highlighting a message, it will immediately be moved to a special section of the application. But wait. Where are WhatsApp featured messages stored? How can I get them back?
Viewing all your starred messages is very easy. All you have to do is go to the WhatsApp configuration section and click on Featured posts. There, you will be able to view all the messages that you have marked. In this section you can also edit them, delete them or go to the conversation where they are.
How to pin messages in a WhatsApp group
Currently, the way to pin a message in a group is to highlight it. To do so, you must follow the instructions that we mentioned above. Of course, you need to use the section Featured posts in the configuration section to view your favorite messages.
However, there is another way to view pinned messages for each conversation or group individually. You only need to click at the top of the conversation, where the name of the group or the name of the contact is found. So when you are in the settings and overview screen, tap on Featured posts. The messages that you will see in the list correspond to the group or the conversation that you have open.
How to highlight a conversation on WhatsApp
Finally, we show you another ideal trick to maintain a good organization on WhatsApp and avoid chaos. It’s about the function of featured or pinned conversations.
The goal of this feature is to keep certain conversations always on top, no matter when was the last time we received a message on it. It’s as simple as taking these steps:
- Swipe the conversation to the right and select Pin up. You should do it like this if you have an iPhone. If you have Android, press and hold the conversation and tap on the upper pin icon.
- Watch the conversation move to the top.
This option is available in individual and group conversations.
