LPBA’s first 3 consecutive normal Mirae Lee
I started with the recommendation of my enthusiastic father, but I just got tired of not feeling the big charm
After entering college as a special student and taking a leave of absence, I fell in love while playing freely
Overcoming a chronic arm injury, revealing the future
This is an honest confession from Lee Mi-rae (23, TS, photo), who achieved the achievement of the first “triple crown” (three consecutive championships) of the professional billiards (PBA-LPBA) launched in 2019. There were no obvious answers such as’natural talent’ or’passion for billiards’. Billiards has been a sport that hasn’t been of interest for 10 years since the first 3rd grade in elementary school when he first caught the cue at the recommendation of his father. However, the title’Billiard Queen’ doesn’t look awkward at all.
Lee Mi-rae beat Oh Soo-jeong (38) 3-2 in the final 5th round of the PBA-LPBA regular tour held at the Mayfield Hotel in Seoul, the final 5th round of the Welcome Savings Bank’s Wellbang Championship, winning the championship trophy. Following the 3rd and 4th competitions of last month, the NH Nonghyup Card Championship and the Crown Haetae Championship, he reached the top three times in a row and won his fourth personal victory in a total of 12 competitions since the PBA was launched. Both are the first records of both men and women. In particular, she swept three trophies in five tournaments this season, winning 61 million won in prize money.
Lee Mi-rae’s life in billiards was not smooth. I wasn’t interested in the queue even though I was holding the queue at the recommendation of my father. My father, who was an executive at a large corporation, was an avid billiard mania enough to visit the billiard room every lunch break. After retirement, he runs a billiard room himself. Mi-rae Mi-rae learned billiards in earnest from the 6th grade of elementary school under the influence of her father. However, I didn’t feel very attractive. Even though I entered college as a billiards student, billiards was still a’father’s sport’. Although her enthusiastic father even served as a coach, Mirae Mi-rae was exhausted in the tight schedule of her studies and competitions. After taking the department test at lunchtime, I often ran to the stadium with a cue bag without rest. In 2018, when the physical limit reached its peak, applying for a two-year leave of absence marked a big turning point. After declaring’independence’ to his father, he just wanted to rest, hitting the ball freely as he wanted to, and fell into the fun of billiards. Thanks to his father’s strict guidance, his skills increased significantly by applying various applied technologies to the solid basics that he could build.
Lee Mi-rae, who is still in the treatment of injuries, will challenge himself to win five times in his personal career at the World Championship, which took 100 million won in winning prizes as the final match of the season to be held on the 24th. He said, “I am grateful to my father for supporting me for over 10 years, who said,’I don’t want to hit the ball.’ I think I have a present for the New Year. I want to show you everything you can do at the World Championship by taking good care of your body.”
