16 h.- Météo France lifts the orange alert “extreme cold” in Lorraine and Franche-Comté
The period of extreme cold ends for the 13 departments of the North-East previously in orange vigilance, including Doubs, Haute-Saône, Territoire-de-Belfort, Moselle, Meurthe-et-Moselle, Vosges and Meuse.
In fact, a slight thaw begins this afternoon. Temperatures at 4 p.m. are between 0 and 3 degrees in most lowland snowy places. Locally they are still negative, up to -2 degrees for the coldest places, while in the hottest places, where there is no snow on the ground, they reach 3 to 6 degrees. The wind has weakened compared to the last few days but peaks between 20 and 40 km / h are still often observed.
In the night from Sunday to Monday, the frosts will be less severe than the previous nights with temperatures included in the coldest of the night between 0 and -5 degrees in general. Taking into account the always present wind, the feeling will often be between -5 and -10 but no longer justifies maintaining orange vigilance.
The warm weather will intensify on Monday with frankly positive temperatures in the afternoon, from 6 degrees in Nancy and Verdun to 8 degrees in Besançon.
