The Nintendo Switch is more in demand than the PS5, but …

Jakarta

Nintendo Switch not a new console, but sales in the United States are still higher than newer consoles such as the Sony PlayStation 5 (PS5) during last January.

This data was released by analyst firm The NPD Group, which said that during January, Switch was still in demand compared to PS5. But it turns out that the PS5 provides a bigger income than the Switch.

The sales of the Switch is even higher than the previous best-selling console, the Nintendo Wii in 2010, as quoted from The Verge, Sunday (14/2/2021).

But why is Sony able to make more money through the PS5? Mainly because the price of the PS5 is indeed more expensive than the Switch. Even the cheapest PS5 variant is still USD 100 more expensive than the Switch.

While the PS5 sales figures are still inferior to the Switch, perhaps one reason is the low availability of the PS5. Since its release three months ago, the PS5 is still a rare item. Mainly because of the pandemic that hindered the production of these consoles.

Switch production was actually affected by the pandemic, and had become a rare item. However, the supply has now improved, and Nintendo is still releasing new variants, such as the latest Mario-themed Switch, welcoming the release of the Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury game.

This new switch variant is available in Mario Red & Blue Edition variants for USD 300. In the sales package there (for the red variant) there is a console and dock stand, Joy-Con, and a red casing, and there is a blue Joy-Con grip.

There is also a bonus screen protector and a special carrying case with various Mario logos on it. Oh yes, this Switch is the 2nd generation whose battery life is a little longer than the first version.
