Residents of Pierrette au Lamentin overwhelmed by the flow of water u

Foul odors have become their daily life, due to the permanent flow of wastewater … The inhabitants of several residences in Pierrette au Lamentin can no longer take it. They now appeal to the responsibility of the competent authorities.

The residents of the Les Cerisiers residence in Pierrette, in Lamentin, were fed up with them… They denounced a malfunction of the wastewater delivery pump laden with faeces… Water that spills onto the roadway, which causes strong nauseating odors … A situation that has lasted too long for the residents. However, work had been carried out but without really solving the problem.

Daily and continuous nuisance

It has been two years since the residents of the residence regularly experience this flow of wastewater. But for the past few months, it has been constantly. A situation that has become intolerable for many. For Grégory Legrave, president of the co-ownership of the Les Plaines de Bourdon residence, “this is unacceptable“, especially since this sanitation problem is common to many neighborhoods and municipalities in the department.

Those who remain are now waiting for an answer, but above all an effective solution from the Community of agglomeration of northern Basse-Terre. They alerted the services of the prefecture, but also hope for the intervention of the Department of the Environment, Planning and Housing and the Regional Health Agency.
