Laurent (on the left) and Alexis Paris (on the right) do not hesitate to work in their workshop with their customers, like Clément, who came to prepare his Honda.
In their workshop, flocked and signed swimsuits roam the walls. The various tools are tidy. And in the center of the room, a motorcycle throne, ready to be pampered. For seven years, in Barville, near Thiberville, Laurent Paris has found a specialty: the preparation of suspensions for off-road motorcycles. His son Alexis, who has been piloting since he was 3 and a half, followed him in this passion.
Laurent Paris was first an auto mechanic but, having been riding motorcycles for several decades, he started to get used to prepare two-wheeler suspensions, “In the evening, after work”. And one day he decided to make a job out of this business. A very specific function, which cannot be learned at school. “This profession is done with passion, not learned with lessons but with time, experience, with trials and failures”, develops the man.
The Paris Laurent Suspensions company deals with off-road motorcycles, those which are most confronted with the rigors of bumps and natural elements. Why focus on such a special element of mechanics as the suspension? “This aspect interested me, if it does not go well on the ground, it is not worth it”, describes the rider, who explains that listening to the customer is essential in this preparation.
Satisfaction guaranteed
“A lot of customers stay with us while we work on their two-wheelers,” says the manager. Customers who praise themselves on the net about the company. “Exceptional professionals who really know their job and who are able to respond to all our requests”, is it possible to read in the latest opinions left online.
In the Norman motocross elite, a vast majority of riders trust them for the preparation of their vehicle. Four motorcycles arrived Monday February 8 at the workshop. Some weeks, more than fifteen suspensions pass through the hands of Laurent or Alexis, who has also set up on his own and who has just acquired a new KTM 450.
“We try to make the vehicles as healthy as possible”, develops Laurent Paris, proud to run his company in Barville, while he experienced the first thrills on a motocross ground very close to here. And if the company enjoys a certain popularity today, the professional does not particularly seek to extend to other departments of France. There is already enough to do here, in this corner of Normandy.
