2000 masks donated – Fränkische Nachrichten

Tauberbischofsheim. The association for open psychiatry was founded from members of the disbanded associations “Phönix” and “Die Brücke” and is a partner of the VOP non-profit GmbH. Its aim is to enable mentally ill people in the Main-Tauber district to participate equally in life in society.

For example, residents of the VOPgGmbh’s outpatient assisted living area and visitors to the day care centers in Tauberbischofsheim and Bad Mergentheim receive grants so that people with mental illness and low incomes can take part in leisure activities. In total, VOP gGmbh regularly looks after over 110 people.

Because of the corona pandemic, the association has now decided to provide 1000 FFP2 and medical masks for the people it cares for in addition to this funding from VOP gGmbh. Because people with mental illness often belong to the high security group due to additional illnesses and also have a very low income, basic security or a low disability pension, according to those responsible. The purchase of the masks is a financial challenge for them.
