The Avian Influenza Central Accident Control Center announced on the 12th that a highly pathogenic avian influenza (AI, H5N8 type) was confirmed at a bell duck farm in Naju, Jeollanam-do.
The farm, which raises about 12,000 ducks, was tested by a quarantine agency dispatched to report suspicion, and H5 type avian influenza antigens were detected and subjected to close examination.
With this confirmation, the heavy water plant will implement enhanced quarantine measures such as preventive killing, restriction of movement, and intensive disinfection of poultry farms near the outbreak farm.
Meanwhile, this winter, the first highly pathogenic AI suspicion occurred in Jeju. Heavy Soobon revealed that H5 type avian influenza antigen was detected in an AI antigen test by a livestock quarantine agency on a meat duck farm in Jeju City. It is expected to take 1 to 3 days to determine whether it is highly pathogenic.
An official from Jungsubon said, “Because the farmers are aware that the outside of the livestock may be widely contaminated, please pay special attention to quarantine.” “I will definitely do it.”
