Munich (dpa / lby) – Deutsche Bahn is stopping long-distance traffic to Tyrol and the Czech Republic due to the new Corona regulations. For the time being, regional trains will no longer run to Tyrol – both with Deutsche Bahn (DB) and Bayerische Regiobahn (BRB). The two companies announced this on Friday. The situation in regional traffic to the Czech Republic was initially unclear. In addition, the DB is still in an exchange with the responsible bodies, said a spokesman.

The connections to Innsbruck and Reutte are affected.

The BRB trains on the Munich-Kufstein route turn at Kiefersfelden station on the Bavarian border. “We have to act like this, because according to the latest ministerial regulation from Austria, this time, in contrast to previous regulations, there is no exception for passenger transport,” explained managing director Arnulf Schuchmann. “It is impossible for our train staff to implement the mandatory test every 48 hours.”
