Pupils thank for soap: Alderman for education spoke to school councils

Halle (Saale) –

The students in Halle have praised the city for the fact that sufficient soap and towels are now available in the schools. The students would also want that for the time after the pandemic, said the councilor for education and social affairs, Katharina Brederlow, in the city’s press conference on Thursday. The councilor met with representatives of the city school council and the children and youth council in a video conference on Wednesday to hear the current problems of the young people in Halle.

On the other hand, the pupils are concerned about the safety of their teachers, some of whom belong to high-risk groups in the pandemic but have not yet been vaccinated. Problems are also seen in the organization of lessons in homeschooling. It was criticized that especially younger students often have to do too much learning material at home. In three weeks there should be another meeting between the city and the youth representatives. (mz / ruc)
