For the fourth day in a row, citizens continue to refuse to participate in the Winter Sale, which has led to a great shock to the 1,523 dealers participating in the Sales Sale.
Ashraf Yassin, a trader, confirmed that there is a severe recession in the buying and selling movement, and that they were expecting a boom in the selling process after the launch of the Aktion, but the movement is still slow, which caused a shock to traders.
Yassin added that the global economic recession, after the spread of the Coronavirus epidemic, affected the local market as well, and there became necessities for citizens to live in, giving them priority before buying clothes and others.
Ali Abdul Ghani, a clothing merchant, confirmed that there is a strong reluctance of citizens to buy clothes, and that the bad weather conditions, and with the fear of infection with the Coronavirus, and the deterioration of living conditions behind it.
Abdul-Ghani said: We suffer from great losses, and although some stores have reduced prices by up to 70% on products, the turnout is still very weak.
Mahmoud Khamis, a merchant, said, “We have been working to attract customers by reducing prices for a while, even before the start of the Akkion, in an attempt to compensate for the losses of the last period, and get rid of winter stocks before the season ends.”
This comes at a time when the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade announced that the number of minutes that had been drawn up since the start of the sale amounted to 76 minutes, which varied between (3 reports of non-announcement, 73 minutes of fake sales).
The Ministry called on all consumers to immediately report any violations that occur during their shopping in commercial stores through the Consumer Protection Agency’s hotline 19588.
