Covid-19 – The average of new contaminations drops further in France (+19,209 positive cases)

Good news on the Covid-19 front, one of the main indicators, namely the average of new contaminations over a week, confirms the decline that began 4 days ago.

France has recorded 25,387 additional coronavirus infections and 296 more epidemic-related deaths in the past twenty-four hours, according to data reported by the government on Wednesday.

The toll in the country now stands at 3,385,622 confirmed infections and 80,443 deaths.

Good news, on the other hand, the average of new infections over a week is down for the fourth day in a row. We are now approaching the 19,000 case mark more than that of 20,000 with 19,209 new contaminations on Wednesday.

The number of hospitalizations in France is also on the decline (-216) with a total of 27,461 while the sum of people in intensive care now stands at 3,319 (-23).

More than 2.49 million people have received a first injection of the vaccine since the start of the vaccination campaign, and 443,148 second doses of the vaccine have been administered to date, the General Directorate of Health said.
