As part of a UK vaccination advertising campaign, musician Elton John and actor Michael Caine made a video calling for the population of Great Britain to participate in the coronavirus vaccination.
In the country with 66.7 million inhabitants, around 12.5 million people have received their first dose so far. All over 70 year olds are currently vaccinated.
In the 90-second film, Sir Elton applies for a role in an advertisement for the vaccination. “The more people get vaccinated, the greater the chances that the national Covid-19 pandemic will be stopped,” he says seriously Looking at the camera. The director is unimpressed: “We’ll let you know”, can be heard off-screen.
Then the singer says angrily: “You won’t find anyone bigger” – and the camera cuts to Sir Michael, who has just been given an injection. “It didn’t hurt,” says the actor, starting with his trademark saying: “Not many people know that.” Caine gets the job, the director is ecstatic: “Let the other guy know he’s got the job did not get. “
