CD Project of ransomware victims. We have the Cyberpunk 2077 source code, the attackers say

The gaming company CD Projekt RED became a victim of ransomware. The attackers downloaded an unspecified amount of data and encrypted some servers. The company informed about it on Twitter. The hackers claim in a statement released by the studio that they have seized the source code of several games and information about the company’s business.

“We have obtained complete copies of the source code from your Perforce server for Cyberpunk 2077, Sorcerer 3, Gwent and the unreleased version of Sorcerer 3. We have also seized all of your documents related to accounting, administration, legal, HR, investor relations and more. At the same time, we have encrypted all your servers, but we understand that you can restore them from backups, “it says message from cyber-attackers.

The company admitted that the attackers managed to steal “certain data belonging to the CD Projekt group.” Although some devices on the company’s network were encrypted, the backups remained undamaged. The attackers threaten the company that if they do not agree to the agreement, they will publish the source codes and provide the stolen documents to gaming journalists.

“We will not comply with the requests or negotiate with the perpetrators, although we recognize that this may lead to the leakage of stolen data,” the company responded to the attack in a statement. At the same time, however, she assured that no personal data of players or users of other services could be stolen. At the same time, the company has reportedly secured its servers and passed information about the attack to the police.
