A section of high-speed railway in eastern China was commissioned on Monday, the last part of a railway that stretches more than 3,400 km from northwest China to the East Coast.
Construction of the section began in July 2017. It is part of a large east-west high-speed line that connects Urumqi, the capital of northwest China’s Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, to Lianyungang in China. is of the country.
The 185-km section from Xuzhou City to the coastal town of Lianyungang in Jiangsu Province has six passenger stations along its route, with a designed speed of 350 km / h, according to the China Railway Shanghai Group.
With the opening of the new section, it will take about an hour to travel from Xuzhou to Lianyungang, compared to two hours previously.
