Summer, a veteran midfielder who played 219 games in the K-League, is a legend who has only played in Gwangju since 2013, excluding military service. Last season, wearing a captain’s armband, Gwangju advanced to Final A and led the team’s highest performance (6th place). The advantage of summer is the active amount of activity. Last season, he averaged 10.783 kilometers per game. He played the third most in the K League 1 after Son Jun-ho and Han Seok-jong.
It was also perfect for manager Nam Ki-il’s tactics, pursuing a quick change of airborne and a lot of activity. In particular, when Director Nam Ki-il conducted Gwangju for three seasons from 2013, he had the experience of working together with priests, so he knows more than anyone else.
Jeju, who was promoted to K-League 1 by winning the K-League 2 last season, set the first goal of the 2021 season to’remain in the league’. As a result, coach Nam Ki-il requested the recruitment of one key player for each position, such as midfielder, left wing, and front-line striker, for team performance while raising the contributions of the existing players. Luckily, I successfully signed a contract with Summer on the list. Jeju has tremendous mid-won resources such as Lee Chang-min, Kim Young-wook, and Lee Chan-dong, but coach Nam Ki-il considered the K-League 1 stage and wanted an experienced player.
