The themes of the conferences will be very broad. A “Handmaid’s Tale” on screen and in comics, names and culture as well as unknown facts about Russia – these are just a few of the topics selected by scientists for the meeting series with young people. Registration for them is already open.
– In each edition we offer lectures on various philologies, disciplines and eras, so that lovers of Polish literature, and fans of videoblogs or series, and those who are passionate about the secrets of English, the daily culture in France or the history of names, will find something for themselves – explains Dr. hab. Monika Bednarczuk from the University of Białystok. – Honestly, it would be difficult for me to choose a title – I would like to listen to all the lectures planned by my colleagues from the Faculty – adds Dr Monika Bednarczuk.
During meetings with young people, the scientist will host the first of the conferences scheduled for February, entitled “Out of the shadows: women writers and Polish literature (introduction)”. The entire meeting series consists of five online courses. The action consists of popularizing issues related to various national (Polish, French, Russian, Canadian, British) and linguistic literatures.
The lectures presented at the “Tygodnia z Filologii UB” (Philology Week of the University of Bialystok) are mainly aimed at pupils in the end of preschool and secondary school. According to the researchers, the meetings will help students prepare for matura exams in Polish, English, French and Russian.
