Study .. Working with “pajamas” affects mental health

The situation evolved with Corona Virus This is new to the impact on mental health, not just public health, as after the complete closure in most countries of the world, some governments decided that the majority of employees of the private and public sectors work from home.

This decision came negatively for most employees, as a recent study showed that working with “pajamas” during the epidemic led to reduced mental health and that although wearing comfortable clothes during work at home did not reduce productivity, it caused a deterioration in mental health. .

The study, conducted by Australian researchers, added that 41% of people found an increase in productivity when working from home while more than a third reported a decrease in their mental health.

Also, 59% of the participants who said that they wear “pajamas” at least once a week stated that their health decreases when working from home compared to 26% of those who did not wear pajamas at all during the day.

The researchers explained: “Although we cannot determine whether wearing pajamas is the cause or the result of deteriorating mental health, the assessment of the effect of clothing on cognition and mental health is increasing, as was observed in hospitalized patients.”

And they continued: “Encouraging patients to wear regular daywear can reduce the severity of depression, and this simple advice that must be changed before starting work in the morning may partially protect against the effects of Covid-19 restrictions on mental health.”

The study also indicated the effect of children on parents who work at home, and what is not surprising, the study found that 63% of those who work from home with a young child have lower productivity.

Likewise, parents who work at home with children of primary school age have shown a decrease in their productivity.
