Corentin Moutet and Jérémy Chardy, both semi-finalists of the Murray River Open, progressed by nine and five places respectively in the ATP ranking published on Monday and still largely dominated by the Serbian Novak Djokovic, who begins the defense of his title at the Open from Australia.
Thanks to his career during the preparation tournament for the first Grand Slam of the season, during which he notably beat the Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, Moutet is ranked 71st in the world.
Dimitrov, ex-World No. 3, fell back two places (21st), and gave up his 19th position to the Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, finalist of the Murray River Open.
Chardy takes 61st place, while his scorer in the semi-final, the future winner of the tournament Daniel Evans, progresses seven places to offer himself at 30 his best ranking (26th).
Winner of the Great Ocean Road Open, another preparation tournament for the Australian Open, the Italian Jannik Sinner climbed to 32nd place (+4), his best ranking. The unfortunate finalist, his compatriot Stefano Travaglia, climbed 11 ranks to settle in 60th position.
Serbian Novak Djokovic, who enters the Australian Open on Monday against Jérémy Chardy, has more than 2,000 points ahead of Spaniard Rafael Nadal (No. 2) and nearly 3,000 over Austrian Dominic Thiem (No. 3).
