Until he slipped into the role of Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars saga, Mark Hamill (69) was largely unknown in the acting industry. A good thirty years after the sixth episode “Return of the Jedi” stood Mark also for the latest three films from the universe in front of the camera. Last year he finally got out. Nevertheless, the 69-year-old seems to like to think back to his beginnings in a galaxy far, far away. Mark posted a photo showing him and Harrison Ford (78) on the set of Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope.
“It was Harrion’s idea to hold hands so that our movements are synchronized and Carrie’s line of sight is correct”, explained Mark the bizarre-looking photo that was apparently taken during a rehearsal. “Apart from that moment, we barely held hands,” he added below Instagram– Add contribution with a wink. The scene shows Mark and Harrison in their roles as Luke and Han Solo, as they are honored for their bravery by Princess Leia (played by Carrie Fisher, ✝60) after a battle. The first film in the series ends shortly afterwards.
“A New Hope” held the title as the most successful film worldwide for years until it was replaced by “ET – The Extra-Terrestrial” in 1983. Not only for the actors, the film meant the final breakthrough. Director George Lucas (76) also achieved instant fame.
