Price: they claim that the producer earns 12% of what is paid in the gondola
The provincial legislator emphasized that the price analysis “is done carefully. The agreed price is 24 pesos, it is far from the 37 that is being paid. There is a lack of yerba and that affects, in addition the market grew and will continue to do so. We must set the price when they buy from us on the farm ”.
In addition, Peterson said that “we earn 12% of what the consumer pays, the rest is earned by the industry and goes to taxes. The worker keeps 12% of what we earn. To produce a kilo of yerba we need three kilos of green leaf, it is expected from 8 to 12 months to take to the gondola ”.
He also announced that the intention with the Inym is to generate a certificate of good practices, after verifying the dryers and mills.
Theft of yerba: “The provincial government is taking care more than ever”
In another part of the interview, the herbalist referent stressed that “we are concerned about the theft, but the Province is carrying out a great job. There are many police officers who go inside to take care of us ”.
In this sense, he emphasized that “a theft of yerba cannot be taken for theft. They are arrested and the next day they leave, without a fine or anything. There are severe penalties for dryers who receive stolen weed ”.
