DEL: Munich sign Canadians Ebbett

The three-time German ice hockey champion Red Bull Munich has signed the Canadian striker Andrew Ebbett (38). The third in the table in the southern group of the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) is reacting to the long-term failure of his attacker Derek Roy (Canada) and the departure of the center Kalle Kossila. The Finn was ordered back to North America by the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Ebbett last played for SC Bern in Switzerland. In the NHL, he played 243 games (27 goals, 47 assists) for six clubs. With the Canadian national team, Ebbett won the bronze medal at the 2018 Winter Olympics.

“Andrew is perfectly suited to replace Kossila. He brings a lot of valuable experience and has proven several times that he has a winning mentality. His past speaks for itself,” said Munich coach Don Jackson. Ebbett himself is happy “to be able to play to win a championship this year as well”.
