Mumbai: Actress Gehana Vashisht and five others have been arrested by the Mumbai police in connection with a case of shooting a pornographic video and uploading it on a website. Gehana Vashisht is the winner of the 2012 Miss Asia Bikini pageant. The actress’ real name is Vandana Tiwari. It is alleged that the video was shot on Mud Island near Malad. According to the police, they had incited others to make pornographic videos and also posted pornographic videos on other pornographic sites in addition to spreading them on their own website.
Police raided their center on Mud Island and seized cameras, smartphones and memory cards. Police said the girls were brought in to act in a web series and then filmed pornographic videos. The probe also extended to models and minor actors.
Police allege that Gehana Vashisht charged Rs 2,000 for a pornographic video on her website. She has uploaded more than eighty pornographic videos on her site. Gehana Vashisht, who has acted in films like Lucknowi Ishq and Dal Mein Kuch Kala Hai, is one of the heroines of Ekta Kapoor’s web series Gandhi Baat. She has acted in a few Telugu films.
Among those arrested is Roy Khan, who has played minor roles in a few Bollywood movies. Police said that they were the ones who led the shooting of the pornographic video. Actress Poonam Pandey was arrested last year in Goa for allegedly shooting a pornographic video. They are now out on bail.
