This game was originally to be played at Leipzig’s Red Bull Arena, however, the German government. Flights from the UK are not permitted to enter the country until Feb. 17, due to contrary to measures to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
As a result, Leipzig had to file a case with UEFA to find a new stadium. At first there was news that might come to the stadium in London, which would give “Reds” quite an advantage because they didn’t have to travel far Before finally choosing to play in Hungary in the end
The European Football Organization stated that “UEFA confirms that the first round of 16 UEFA Champions League games between RB Leipzig and Liverpool will be played at the Puskas Arena in Budapest on 16th. Wed 2021 and kick-off at the same time (03.00 GMT) ”
The second match will be played at Anfield, home of Liverpool on Wednesday 10 March (03.00 Thailand time).
