AU: the network of young Congolese parliamentarians ready to support Tshisekedi and pleads for the creation of an African agency for culture and education like UNESCO

President Félix Tshisekedi took control of the African Union on Saturday for a year. In this perspective, the network of young parliamentarians of the DRC promises to support the Congolese Head of State in the accomplishment of his tasks.

“In the hope of contributing ardently to the success of the Congolese agenda at the African Union, which is truly at the service of the people, the network of young parliamentarians will spare no effort to popularize Agenda 2063 and to bring out the proposals of public policies and laws. It will support all mechanisms for consolidating peace, securing fragile states and fighting terrorism, “said its president, national deputy Auguy Kalonji in a press release on Saturday, February 6, 2021.

The network proposes the creation of an African agency similar to UNESCO.

“As part of the promotion of the revival of African culture, arts and heritage, the network of young parliamentarians will submit a proposal for an African decision for the creation of an African agency for culture and education, an agency sister at UNESCO “.

This proposal relates to the official theme of the DRC’s mandate at the head of the AU: “Arts, culture and heritage: levers to build the Africa we want”.
