First delivery of the Astrazeneca vaccine now also in Baden-Württemberg

Southwest. The first delivery of the vaccine from the British-Swedish manufacturer Astrazeneca has also arrived in Baden-Württemberg. A spokesman for the Ministry of Health announced that the first 48,000 cans promised by the manufacturer for the south-west arrived at the central warehouse on Saturday. The vaccine will be delivered to the 60 vaccination centers in the country over the next few days and from there to clinics. The Astrazeneca vaccine is only released for people under 65 years of age and is therefore vaccinated directly on site to hospital staff, the spokesman said.

In contrast to vaccinations with the vaccine from Biontech / Pfizer, the first Astrazeneca delivery is 100 percent inoculated, nothing is held back for the second vaccination. This happens nine to 12 weeks after the first.

A second delivery of 52,800 cans is said to arrive in the southwest in about a week. Two further deliveries with 134 400 and 194 400 cans follow.
