The Burger King brand opened Thursday February 4, 2021, rue du Gros-Horloge in Rouen (Seine-Maritime) and on the networks, it was the subject of a controversy linked to advertisement signage installed on street furniture.
“Visual pollution of public space”
The Burger King on rue du Gros-Horloge in Rouen, which opened on Thursday February 4 instead of the Quick, has (re) found its customers. One manager said he was “very satisfied” with these first opening days.
But on the networks, it’s a whole different subject that was put on the table by the third assistant, Laura Slimani via Twitter.
The latter tells 76act, Saturday : “These signs are completely illegal. On the Place du Palais de Justice, there were three or four of them last night. “
I challenged on Twitter the brand that did not answer me and I obviously went back to the mayor. This sign must be sanctioned. Burger King opens, that’s fine, but they don’t have to break the law and visually pollute the public space,
The panels removed
Contacted, the Burger King communication service explains that “the mayor introduced himself to the manager who apologized”. Indeed, the mayor, Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol personally removed two panels during the day to hand them over to the manager of the fast food restaurant.
“The posters have been removed,” announces the sign, around 4:30 pm Saturday. The deputy in charge of the right bank, Nicolas Zuili also came in the afternoon to check that everything had been removed.
The advertising regulations will soon expire in the Metropolis. “It will be the subject of a new consultation. With Génération.s and the Rouen-l’Écologie enacted group, we are going to defend a reduction in advertising in the public space in Rouen and in the Metropolis ”, insists the elected representative.
